Build it yourself. Just not entirely alone.
Years of experience compressed into a single engagement. We teach you the part selection, cable management, and practical know-how that builders normally spend years figuring out, so you walk away closer to expert-level without putting in expert-level hours. Three tiers of support, from a written parts plan to fully hands-on coaching with custom water loops.
Three tiers of DIY help, each priced for the depth of involvement. Click any card to see exactly what's included and how it works.
A written parts plan, tailored to you.
The original DIY consultation: you tell us what you want to build and how you want to use it, and we deliver a complete, compatible parts list along with a written explanation of why each component was chosen.
We gather your specific system requirements, including workflow, performance caliber, system noise levels, cooling capacity, and overall system style. After assessing these factors, we combine them with your budget constraints and design a comprehensive parts list that fits your unique needs.
What you get:
- Complete parts list: CPU, motherboard, RAM, GPU, storage, PSU, cooling, case, and fans, with specific SKUs and current prices
- Compatibility verified: every component checked for socket match, RAM compatibility, PSU wattage headroom, case clearance, and cooler fitment
- Component rationale: a written walkthrough of why each part was chosen and what tradeoffs were made
- Performance expectations: what kind of framerates, render times, or workflow performance you should see
- Upgrade path notes: guidance on what can be upgraded later and what locks you in
You handle the build yourself, on your timeline. If you get stuck, the document tells you which parts go where and what to watch out for, but you're flying solo at assembly time.
Request a Parts ListI'll talk you through assembly, live.
You get everything in Tier 1, plus a live video walkthrough during your build session. We schedule a time, you set up your workspace, and I'll guide you through each step in real time: cable routing, component installation order, paste application, fan orientation, BIOS first-boot, and the small judgment calls that separate a working build from a great one.
This is years of build experience translated into a few hours of conversation. You learn the practical realities that build guides skip, like how to tell if a CPU is seated correctly by feel, why you should plug in the front panel headers before you mount the motherboard, and which cable management techniques actually look good and which just hide the mess.
What's included:
- Everything in Tier 1: complete parts list, compatibility verification, component rationale, performance expectations
- Pre-build review: 20-minute call before parts arrive to confirm anything that changed and review the assembly plan
- Live build session: guided assembly via video call, scheduled at your convenience
- Cable management coaching: the part most YouTube tutorials skip, taught properly with techniques you can actually replicate
- First-boot setup: walking through BIOS, OS install, driver order, and initial performance validation
- Follow-up window: 7 days of email or text support for any issues that come up after the session
Custom water-cooled builds are typically multi-day engagements at the higher tier. They include planning the loop layout, choosing radiators and rotation patterns, soft tubing routing or hardline tube bending, leak testing protocol, and the dozens of small steps that make a loop reliable years down the road.
Schedule a Guided BuildI come to you. Hands-on teaching, in person.
The most thorough way to learn how to build a PC: I bring my tools and experience to your location, and we build your machine together. You do the work, I show you exactly what to look for, what mistakes to avoid, and the small details that distinguish a tidy professional build from a working-but-messy one.
This isn't me building it for you while you watch. It's me coaching you through every step so you can do it yourself next time. By the end, you'll understand not just how to install each component, but why the order matters, how to spot problems before they cause trouble, and what good cable management actually looks like up close.
For custom water-cooled builds, the engagement expands to cover what custom loops actually require: tube bending technique, fitting selection, radiator placement and flow direction, proper component cleaning before assembly, multi-stage leak testing, and the patient process that separates loops you'll love from loops that quietly fail in six months. Water-cooled engagements are typically multi-day, spread across two or three sessions so each stage gets the time it deserves.
What's included:
- Everything in Tiers 1 and 2: complete parts list, compatibility verification, pre-build call, and a follow-up support window
- On-site visit: in-person session at your location in the Raleigh-Durham area
- Hands-on coaching: you do the assembly, I guide you through each step with direct feedback
- Tools provided: anti-static gear, precision screwdrivers, thermal paste, cable combs, zip ties, and for water builds, the specialty tools you don't need to buy yourself
- Cable management masterclass: the part most YouTube tutorials skip, taught properly with the right tools and techniques
- For water builds: tube bending instruction, component cleaning, radiator orientation, fitting torque, and full leak testing protocol
- Full first-boot setup: BIOS, OS install, drivers, benchmarking, and stress testing before I leave
- Extended follow-up: 30 days of email or text support after the session
Available throughout Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and the RTP area. Sessions outside the immediate Triangle are quoted on request with travel included.
